Central Alps Komagatake Ropeway

Ropeway at the highest elevation in Japan

Central Alps Komagatake Ropeway is a ropeway built in 1967 connecting the valley below with the Senjojiki Cirque directly in the shadow of Mt. Hokendake in the Central Alps of Japan. The elevation of the peak station is 2,612 meters, making it the highest of any station in Japan. The ropeway enables everyone to enjoy the natural splendor of the Japanese Alps throughout the four seasons.
