From a grand and romantic vision to build a ropeway on Mount Komagatake in the Central Alps, which reaches an altitude of nearly 3,000 meters, we received understanding and cooperation from various quarters. After overcoming difficult construction challenges, in 1967 (Showa 42), Japan\u2019s first mountain ropeway was installed at Senjojiki Cirque, directly below Mount Hokendake\u2014a symbol of the Central Alps.Since then, the natural beauty of the Central Alps\u2014which was once accessible only to a select few alpinists\u2014has become available to everyone through a combination of mountain buses and the ropeway. Visitors can now experience the alpine flower meadows in summer, the vivid autumn foliage, and the snow-covered landscapes in winter.\nCurrently, in addition to operating the \u201cKomagatake Ropeway\u201d and \u201croute buses\u201d that lead to Senjojiki Cirque, we also operate \u201cHotel Senjojiki\u201d at the ropeway\u2019s summit station. Furthermore, we operate \u201cRestaurant Komagane\u201d at the Komagatake Service Area on the southbound lane of the Chuo Expressway.Through our business operations, we will continue to do our utmost to ensure that as many people as possible can fully enjoy the natural beauty of the Central Alps, reaffirm the grandeur and importance of nature, and help preserve this irreplaceable natural environment for future generations. Central Alps Komagatake Ropeway<\/h4>\n

Japan\u2019s first mountain ropeway, constructed in 1967 across the Senjojiki Cirque directly below Mt. Hoken in the Central Alps. The summit station stands at an elevation of 2,612 meters (the highest in Japan). Visitors can enjoy the grandeur of the Alps throughout all four seasons.<\/p>\n\n

Route Bus\n(JR Komagane Station to Ropeway Shirabidaira Station)<\/h4>\n

A year-round scheduled bus service connecting JR Komagane Station and Shirabidaira Station, the ropeway\u2019s base station. This service operates year-round between JR Komagane Station and Shirabidaira Station\u2014the starting point of the ropeway\u2014serving not only ropeway passengers but also local residents as a vital means of transportation.<\/p>\n\n
