On the Central Alps, a variety of flowers burst forth one after another from thaw through autumn.
These flowers have survived the harsh natural environment of high mountains since the glacial age. However, nature, once destroyed, takes a very long time to recover its original state.
Some of the alpine floras are actually decreasing year after year or on the verge of extinction due to illegal collection or trampling.
The climbers and hikers are asked to remain on the trails whether the areas are roped off or not.
Let us preserve the delicate alpine flora having survived from the glacial age for future generations. Your cooperation is indispensable for the protection of the invaluable nature of the Central Alps.
The natural environment suffers a great deal not only from illegal collection and trampling but also from littering.
Be sure to take your own garbage back home with you.
Leaving the litter can upset the environment or the ecosystem for fauna and flora and lead to the disruption of nature.
Many acts are forbidden on the Central Alps. You are forbidden to collect or remove any fauna and flora from these mountains. You cannot carry away even insects, deadwood, fallen leaves or branches. Your irresponsible conducts may violate the Natural Parks Act, the Forest Act, or the Cultural Assets Preservation Act.
Your careless behavior can lead to nature’s destruction. Therefore, please cooperate in protecting the natural environment and preserving the wonderful and priceless nature for our posterity.
Within the tramway cabin, be sure to place your belongings on the floor and hold your stick or the like in your hand so as not to get in the way of the other passengers.
Priceless plants grow naturally and many wild animals dwell in Central Alps Prefectural Park. So no pets of yours are allowed on the bus to the Komagatake Ropeway and in the Ropeway cabin in order to protect nature. Your pets, if allowed to enter the cirque area, can cause harmful effects on the animals and plants native to it. On the other hand, there are risks of your pets contracting diseases present in the mountains.
※ The above rule does not apply to your taking a well-trained seeing-eye dog, hearing-ear dog, or partner dog.
Recently it is a growing concern that foreign seeds infiltrate into the alpine regions via the hikers’ shoe soles.
Chuo Alps Kanko has special mats placed here and there in the paths to keep such foreign seeds out.
Please take care to clean your shoe soles on those mats
